Résumé fourni par la source

Social media is widely used by college students that have raised many academic issues. In this context, this paper investigates how social media has affected college students, especially BBA students', academic life and behavioral habits in the context of Aadikavi Bhanubhakta Campus, Tanahun. For the study, I adopted a descriptive quantitative design where 104 BBA students were sampled for data collection. The Google Forms questionnaire was used as a method for collecting data, and a total of 98 valid questionnaires were obtained. For data analysis, I used descriptive statistics such as frequencies and percentages. The results indicated that students accessed social media platforms mainly for entertainment, communicating with peers, sharing information, and helping out with their academic activities. Moreover, social media activity helped them to find new educational materials, collaborate, and get new ideas from peers. However, the overuse of social media has caused them distraction, lower productivity, ineffective time utilization, delays, and even disturbed sleep patterns. The study recommends that social media should be utilized for learning content and social interaction, while maintaining students' discipline and conduct.
