Herbal technology involves the integration of traditional herbal medicine practices with new technological findings to enhance the quantity and quality of the medicinal plants. These include biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and genetic engineering, to increase plant yield, quality, and performance. To this end, some of the objectives of this field include enhancing the extraction, formulation, and bioavailability of these compounds, which can be achieved using science and wellproven techniques. The development and application of controlled environmental growth, new extraction methods, and Artificial Intelligence have made herbal technology an active part of both conventional and contemporary medicine. The increased consumption of natural and preventive health products has increased the demand for herbal products worldwide and encouraged market activities and legislation.
