The effects of genicular nerves radiofrequency ablation treatment on postural stability in patients with knee osteoarthritis
Résumé fourni par la source
Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the effects of genicular nerves radiofrequency ablation (GNRFA) treatment on postural stability in patients with knee osteoarthritis. Patients and Methods: Twenty-two patients were included in the study. Postural stability was assessed using the walk across test, sit-to-stand test, step-up and over test and modified clinical test of balance in sensory interaction tests with the NeuroCom Balance Master device. A numeric rating scale and the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) criterion was used to determine changes pain levels and the functionality. Three evaluations were performed before treatment, 3 weeks and 3 months after treatment. Results: month (p<0.001 for both). Conclusion: After GNRFA treatment, the lift-up index and the movement time, which are the dynamic postural stability parameters has improved significantly. These results show that GNRFA treatment contributes positively to postural stability.
