Cloud-Native SIG Workshop: Deploying a Web Application with Kubernetes
Résumé fourni par la source
The academic world is asking for more web-based software to make research more accessible to both researchers and the public. There are many challenges with writing, maintaining and deploying web services, so how, as an RSE can we make this journey easier. Cloud-Native technology (Kubernetes) is a very easy and stable way for researchers to deploy cloud-based web applications and can be run on everything from a local laptop, Raspberry Pi or HPC reducing the need for a public cloud provider to run your web apps. This workshop is designed for new starters to Kubernetes who wish to have a practical demonstration of how this technology works. We will provide a hands-on tutorial of how: To deploy a simple web application on Minikube To make updates to your website Kubernetes can automatically recover when there are underlying problems. Last year this workshop was very popular, so building on feedback and other refinements we are redelivering it to RSEs of all career stages who are interested in web applications, DevOps or deployment.
