Full-mouth rehabilitation and 5-year maintenance in a patient with Class II division 2 malocclusion and severe tooth wear

Patients with Class II division 2 malocclusion and severe tooth wear may require complex occlusal rehabilitation due to excessive deep bite, loss of anterior guidance, irregular occlusal plane, and insufficient restorative space, resulting in both functional and esthetic problems.Particularly in elderly patients, treatment planning should consider the patient's functional demands, biological risk factors, and long-term maintainability.In this case report, a 69-year-old male patient with Class II division 2 malocclusion and severe generalized tooth wear was treated with selective tooth reduction and staged full-mouth prosthetic rehabilitation to restore anterior guidance and stable posterior occlusion.Functional and esthetic problems were successfully resolved by establishing equalintensity occlusal contacts on all teeth in maximum intercuspal position (MIP) and anterior guidance harmonious with functional movements.In addition, stable treatment outcomes were maintained through appropriate management of occlusal changes and biological complications that occurred during a 5-year maintenance period.(
