Determination of the antioxidant capacity of some thiazole derivatives using the CUPRAC and DPPH method
Résumé fourni par la source
In this study, the antioxidant properties of some thiazole compounds were investigated using the DPPH and CUPRAC methods. Urea, amide, and benzyl-substituted thiazole compounds (11, 12, 13) were synthesized from the reactions of 4-phenyl-2-aminothiazole with phenyl isocyanate, acetyl chloride, and benzyl chloride, respectively. In addition, compound (17) was obtained from 4-bromoacetophenone, and compound (15) was obtained from the formylation reactions of compounds (13) and (12). In addition, the synthesis strategies of thiazole compounds are outlined, with particular emphasis on product formation in formylation reactions. The measurement of antioxidant capacity plays an important role in the synthesis of bioactive heterocyclic compounds with therapeutic potential. Compound (17) (13.7% RSC) showed the best DPPH activity (Reference trolox 84 %). When the CUPRAC test was applied to compound (17), the TEAC value (Trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity) was found to be 1.75±0.018. The results reveal that compound (17) possesses poor radical scavenging ability while maintaining significant reducing strength.
