Data for: Food-web transfer and associated human exposure to methylmercury in Flathead Lake, Montana
Le résumé fourni par la source
This data set contains mercury concentrations and stable isotope composition of fish and invertebrates collected from Flathead Lake, Montana, USA, from 2016–2021. Fish were captured throughout the lake using sinking gill nets distributed among five sampling units and four depth strata. Muscle tissues from bull trout, lake trout, and lake whitefish were analyzed for methylmercury (MeHg), total mercury (THg), and δ¹³C and δ¹⁵N. Planktonic Daphnia and Mysis, and benthic chironomids, were collected to establish mercury and isotope baselines and trophic pathways. Samples were analyzed for mercury at the USGS Contaminant Ecology Research Laboratory and for stable isotopes at the University of Wyoming Stable Isotope Facility.
