Abstract A CO catalyst based on titanium nitride oxidized at 683 K and containing 12 wt % Pt was synthesized. The CO catalyst was supported on porous nickel. The catalyst was characterized using XPS. The effect of UV radiation on the catalytic properties was studied, and long-term catalyst testing over 30 days was conducted. UV radiation at a power of 0.15 W/cm2 was found to increase the rate of CO oxidation by 16 times. The activation energy of the reaction rate constant was determined in the temperature range from 283 to 313 K and was found to be 12.5 kJ/mol under UV illumination of the catalyst. The results of this study can be used in photocatalytic air purification systems.
