This dataset contains the data underlying the study “Environmental filtering and structural heterogeneity shape herbaceous vegetation dynamics following bark beetle-induced canopy cover loss”. It comprises plot-level herbaceous vegetation data (species-specific percentage cover) and environmental variables from 82 study plots located in forest areas affected by bark beetle-induced canopy cover loss in Germany. Environmental variables include topographic, disturbance-related, structural, light, and soil characteristics. The dataset supports the analyses and results presented in the associated manuscript.
