PHIHDL: A Novel HDL Index Predicting Baseline Pulmonary Hemodynamics and Long-Term Survival in PAH; NMR raw Data

NMR-derived metabolites and lipoprotein-related parameters were analyzed for their association with clinically relevant parameters of pulmonary arterial hypertension. We defined PHIHDL, a high-density lipoprotein (HDL)-derived score, based on its strong pulmonary hemodynamic associations, and tested its prognostic properties. We derived this score from a cluster of 12 high-density lipoprotein-related parameters with a significant inverse correlation to pulmonary hemodynamics. It is associated with pulmonary hemodynamics, and all-cause mortality, after age- and sex- correction (HR 2.96 [95% CI 1.52-5.70]), independent of the clinical prognostic scores COMPERA 2.0 and REVEAL Lite 2.
