THE ROLE OF IMPAIRED LOCAL (ORAL AND CUTANEOUS) TOLERANCE MECHANISMS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF CONCOMITANT LESIONS OF ORAL AND SKIN STRUCTURES IN ACNE
Résumé fourni par la source
The aim of the study is to identify the clinical manifestations of impaired local tolerance-related reactivity and the roles of microbiota, defensins, and cytokine regulators in this phenomenon in acne patients with concomitant lesions of the oral cavity and skin. The subject of the study comprises skin microbiota, alpha-defensins, interleukin-6 (IL-6), and interferon-gamma (IFNγ) in acne patients, both with and without concomitant pathology of the dentofacial system. In the 37 acne patients examined, increased skin colonization by facultative microbiota, an increase in opportunistic microbiota, and the emergence of pathogenic microbiota were observed. Alterations in blood levels of alpha-defensins, IL-6, and IFN-γ were also noted. These abnormalities were significantly more pronounced in the presence of concomitant dentofacial pathology, thereby influencing the clinical severity of the acne. Keywords: acne, microbiota, dentofacial pathology, defensins, IL-6, IFN-γ, local tolerance.
