Résumé fourni par la source

Infertility is an important reproductive health concern that may affect the physical, emotional and social well-being of couples. The present study aimed to assess knowledge regarding advancements in infertility management among eligible women and to determine the effectiveness of a structured teaching programme. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental, non-equivalent pre-test post-test control group design was adopted. A total of 80 eligible women aged 19–45 years residing in selected rural areas of District Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, were selected by non-probability purposive sampling, with 40 participants in the experimental group and 40 in the control group. Data were collected using a self-structured knowledge questionnaire containing 30 multiple-choice items. The pre-test mean knowledge score was 12.33 ± 4.172 in the experimental group and 12.63 ± 3.787 in the control group. After the structured teaching programme, the post-test mean score increased to 18.75 ± 4.30 in the experimental group, while the control group had a mean score of 12.85 ± 3.86. The paired t-test for the experimental group was 14.147 with p < 0.001, showing a highly significant improvement. The post-test comparison between groups was also significant (t = 6.457, p < 0.001). Educational status was significantly associated with post-test knowledge in the experimental group (χ² = 13.731, df = 6, p = 0.033), whereas no significant association was observed in the control group. The findings indicate that the structured teaching programme was effective in improving knowledge regarding advancements in infertility management among eligible women.
