Roadmap on structured light lasers
Résumé fourni par la source
Abstract How to further increase the information capacity carried by structured light by extending and coupling many degrees of freedoms of light over time and frequency domains, such as polarizations and spatial structures, is one of the frontiers in optics and photonics. Diffraction and transformation optics have already made the generation of structured light full of flexibility, while, considering the efficiency and compactness of the system, the structured light directly generated from lasers is greatly in need as the “at-the-source” solutions. It is a booming direction to customize diversified structured light easily and precisely generated from exquisitely designed lasers. This roadmap intends to highlight the recent advances in the classical strategies and novel designs for structured light lasers, including the cavity parameters direct modulations, new optical elements assisted modulations, on-chip micro/nano-cavity designs, as well as the multiple applications of the structured light laser, presenting a bird’s eye viewpoint on the development of structured light lasers and the outlook of future trends and open challenges.
