D1.2 Report on slab ocean model development

A “slab” ocean version of the UK Met Office climate model has been developed, and tested under pre-industrial and paleo configurations. The primary approach taken is to carry out short 50-year simulations with the fully-coupled coupled model as this has been found to behave similarly to a mixed-layer model, but is more useful as it provides more information on the likely final equilibrium of the model, which is the key aspect for Past to Future.
