JWST color sequence of transiting exoplanets and directly imaged substellar objects
Résumé fourni par la source
Code, data, and figures for Fu et al., "JWST color sequence of transiting exoplanets and directly imaged substellar objects". This bundle is self-contained: every figure in the paper can be regenerated from the data included here, with no downloads and no paths outside the folder. pip install -r requirements.txt python make_all_figures.py That runs the 18 scripts in code/ and writes the paper's 16 figures into fig/ (about one minute). Each figure also has its own script that can be run alone. Contents -------- * code/ one script per figure, plus shared helpers * code/photometry/ how the synthetic-photometry catalogues in data/ were built * data/ every input the figure scripts read: JWST and AKARI spectra, object parameters, NIRCam and 2MASS transmission curves, model grids (Sonora Bobcat/Diamondback/Elf Owl, Exo-REM, PICASO), AMES-Dusty isochrones, the SPHEREx SPIFF derived catalogues, and the UltracoolSheet * fig/ the 16 published figures (PDF) The sample comprises JWST dayside emission spectra of 13 transiting giant planets, 57 self-luminous substellar objects, and the irradiated brown dwarf ZTF J0038+2030 B, spanning ~350-2600 K and log g = 2.5-5.5, together with ~2150 SPHEREx ultracool dwarfs, all converted to synthetic photometry in 2MASS J/Ks and five NIRCam medium bands isolating H2O, CH4, CO2, and CO. Reproducibility --------------- Verified by deleting every figure and rebuilding from scratch: all 16 figures reproduce pixel-for-pixel against the accepted manuscript, and the derived tables (the CH4-onset SVM fit and its threshold-sensitivity test) regenerate byte-identically, since the bootstrap RNG is seeded. The optional SPHEREx photometry chain in code/photometry/ was also run end to end against the SPIFF release: it reproduces both bundled catalogues byte-identically and returns the band rejection counts quoted in Section 2.3 of the paper. Requirements: Python 3.9+ with numpy, pandas, scipy, matplotlib, scikit-learn, and astropy. Not included: the raw SPHEREx SPIFF spectra (Gagne et al. 2026, doi:10.5281/zenodo.19051216) and the raw JWST data. The derived photometry is shipped, so the figure scripts run without either.
