This repository contains data and analysis files associated with a study of the gut microbiomes and gastrointestinal parasite communities of free-ranging African lions (Panthera leo) and spotted hyenas (Crocuta crocuta) in Etosha National Park, Namibia. Fecal samples were collected using multiple field collection and preservation methods and analyzed using shallow shotgun metagenomic sequencing to characterize bacterial and eukaryotic parasite communities.
