Le résumé fourni par la source
Stability and acoustic responses of microbubbles depend on their encapsulating lipid shells. The shell is characterized by different models involving interfacial elasticities and viscosities, determined using microbubble size distribution and attenuation measurements of polydisperse microbubbles. We have found that the results are much sensitive to the size distribution than to the small changes in the attenuation. Here, we further investigate the robustness and sensitivity of the estimation method based on the exponential elasticity model (EEM) by manipulating the size distribution. We varied the bin width (0.01–1 μm), the size distribution fit (Normal/Gaussian, Lognormal, Weibull, and Cumulative), the microbubble boundary (varying by half a pixel), and the total concentration (varying by 50%). This study demonstrates the necessity of accurate size distribution measurements for reliable estimation of shell parameters.
