Philotrypesis arfak Li & Rasplus sp. nov. Figs 13 A, 13 C – F; 14 A – D (♀); 13 B, 14 E, F (♂) Type material. Holotype • ♀: Indonesia: West Papua, road from Manokwari to Maruni [-0.925 134.044], 11. v. 2008, Cruaud A.; Ubaidillah R. & Rasplus J. Y. leg. [JRAS 02350_0310], deposited in MZB, Bogor. Condition: glued by right side on rectangular card; perfect state, entire. Paratypes: • 22 ♀, 28 ♂, same data as holotype. Paratype specimens deposited in MZB, Bogor and CBGP, Montpellier. Diagnosis. Female recognized by the alutaceous lower face and parascrobal area, antenna inserted on the ocular line, orange ventral metasoma extending dorsally above the midline of the gaster, weakly sculptured mesoscutellum with a broad median longitudinal declivity, and long ovipositor sheath. The propodeum is distinctive in possessing discontinuous submedian carinae and only two conspicuous anterior carinae. The gastral tail is the most strongly developed within the P. ravii sp. gp., with Mt 7 about 1.2–1.4 × as long as Mt 8 + 9. Together with P. paiwan sp. nov., it belongs to the subgroup characterized by strong facial sculpture, orange metasomal coloration and a sculptured mesoscutellum. It differs from P. paiwan sp. nov. by its weaker mesoscutellar sculpture, simplified propodeal ornementation, markedly longer ovipositor sheath (about 1.4–1.5 × versus 1.2 × metasomal length) and more elongate gastral tail (Mt 7 about 1.2–1.4 × versus 1.0–1.1 × the length of Mt 8 + 9). Although approaching P. minang sp. nov. in ovipositor length and tail development, it differs by the orange metasoma, sculptured face and mesoscutellum, and reduced propodeal carination. Male recognised by the triangularly emarginate clypeal margin, long malar space (0.5–0.8 × eye height), long temples (3.3–4.0 × eye height), 4 - segmented funicle with a 3 - segmented clava, and pronotum only moderately longer than the mesonotum + metanotum (1.1–1.6 ×). Closest to P. paiwan sp. nov., but differing by the shorter pronotum, smaller eyes (eye length only 0.5–0.6 × eye height), and less elongate mesonotum relative to propodeum. Female. Body length: 1.94–2.23 mm; ovipositor length: 1.80–1.97 mm. Metasoma: Mt 2 – Mt 6 L: 835, W: 418; Mt 7 L: 315, W: 54; Mt 8 + 9 L: 226, W: 63; ovipositor sheath L: 1973. Colour. Head and mesosoma black with greenish iridescence (Figs 13 A, 14 B). Antenna (flagellum, pedicel and scape) brownish (Fig. 13 C). Fore wing hyaline, venation yellowish (Fig. 13 E). All legs entirely yellowish light, including coxae (Fig. 13 A). Gaster to Mt 6 anteriorly yellowish-orange, dorsally black with bluish-greenish iridescence (Fig. 13 A); ventrally entirely yellowish-orange, the yellow coloration extending above the median line; Mt 7 – Mt 8 + 9 blackish dorsally, yellowish ventrally. Ovipositor sheaths black, transversely striate. Hypopygium yellowish. Head. Lower face and parascrobal area conspicuously alutaceous (Fig. 13 D) with punctures bearing a short seta, vertex with few transverse striae (Fig. 13 F); scrobal depression and frontovertex smooth. In dorsal view 2.08–2.39 × as broad as long (Fig. 13 F); in frontal view transverse, 1.39–1.48 × as broad as high (Fig. 13 D). Eye height 1.04–1.26 × eye length and 1.60–1.67 × as long as malar space; malar sulcus distinct. Lateral ocellus closer to eye than its own transverse diameter (Fig. 13 F). Clypeal margin slightly convex (Fig. 13 D). Antenna inserted on ocular line, (Fig. 13 D). Intertorular distance equal to diameter of torulus. POL 3.33–4.40 × OOL and 1.87–2.19 × LOL. Antenna. Pedicel + flagellum L 0.91–1.15 × as long as head breadth. Funicular segments, longer than wide, with sensilla arranged in one row (Fig. 13 C); fl 4 1.04–1.26 × as long as wide and fl 8 1.05–1.11 × as long as wide (Fig. 13 C). Mesosoma. Pronotum dorsally smooth to the exception of a few striae on posterior edge, laterally alutaceous (Fig. 14 B); pronotum transverse 0.37–0.43 × longer than wide and 0.71–0.95 × as long as mesoscutum (Fig. 14 B). Mesoscutum (both mesoscutal mid lobe and lateral lobe) conspicuously transversally alutaceous (Fig. 14 B); notauli conspicuous, finely impressed (Fig. 14 B); axillae and mesoscutellum weakly alutaceous medially nearly smooth with large longitudinal declivity (Fig. 14 B), mss 1.10–1.32 × as long as msc. Prepectus smooth; upper mesepisternum (ues 2) faintly engraved reticulate on its upper part, densely setose in lower third (Fig. 14 A); mesopleural suture (pls) conspicuous, deep (Fig. 14 A). Acron and mesepimeron smooth. Metapleuron (pl 3) alutaceous (Fig. 14 A). Dorsellum smooth. Propodeum smooth with a median longitudinal depression, and laterally bounded by submedian and discontinuous longitudinal carinae (Fig. 14 C); posterior propodeal carina sharp, bearing two anterior conspicuous carinae; two additional lateral carinae flanking propodeal spiracle: short external, long internal (Fig. 14 C). Wing. mv 3.67–4.02 × longer than stv; pmv 1.07–1.32 × longer than stv (Fig. 13 E). Metasoma. Mt 2 smooth; Mt 3-7 alutaceous at least laterally, the sculpture becoming stronger on posterior tergite; Mt 8 + 9 smooth (Fig. 14 D). Length of Mt 2 – Mt 6, 1.45–1.67 × length of reduced part of metasoma (Mt 7 + Mt 8 + 9). Mt 7 4.71–5.78 × as long as broad and 1.21–1.39 × as long as Mt 8 + 9. Mt 8 + 9 3.51–3.60 × as long as broad. Ovipositor sheath 1.41–1.53 × as long as metasoma (Mt 2 – Mt 8 + 9 length) and 1.00–1.07 × as long as body length (from head to posterior margin of Mt 8 + 9). Male. Body length: 0.79–0.94 mm. Measurements (µm) [paratype JRAS 02350_0501]: Head L: 407, W: 461; eye H: 72, L: 33; malar space L: 56; TML (temple length): 289. Mesosoma L: 651, W: 590; pronotum L: 299; mesonotum L: 209; propodeum L: 125; fore wing remnant L: 230. Colour. Body entirely yellowish-brown excepted mandible and all tibiae dark brown (Fig. 13 B); antenna whitish (Fig. 14 E). Head. In frontal view slightly transverse to subquadrate (Fig. 14 E), 0.83–0.91 × as long as wide with 6–8 long and setae (as long as head) on vertex. Clypeal margin conspicuously, triangularly emarginate (Fig. 14 E). Malar space striate 0.54–0.84 × the height of compound eye; temple 3.32–4.00 × the height of compound eye; scrobal depression strongly and concentrically striate; frontovertex smooth with sparse large punctures; temple inconspicuously alutaceous, with sparse large punctures and a long, conspicuous sulcus posterior to eye, slightly exceeding eye length. Compound eye 0.47–0.59 × as long as high. Funicle with 4 funicular segments becoming broader toward apex (Fig. 14 E), and a three-segmented clava. Mesosoma. 1.10–1.25 as long as broad. Pronotum 1.14–1.56 × as long as fused meso- + metanotum (no 2 + no 3) (Fig. 14 F). Fused no 2 – no 3 L 1.67–1.83 × as long as propodeum (Fig. 14 F). Propodeum, well delimitated by septa, propodeal spiracles located in the latero-posterior angle of the propodeum. Wings vestigial, fore wing remnant 0.98–1.10 × as long as mesoscutum L. Protibia (tb 1) (Fig. 13 B) externally flattened and rugose over most of its surface; bearing 4–5 short apical or subapical spines in one row. Mesotibia (tb 2) (Fig. 13 B) externally with 9–10 short spines in 1–2 rows. Metatibia (tb 3) with 14–16 short spines in 2–3 rows (Fig. 13 B); first tarsomere digitally expanded, bearing a pair of long setae; second tarsomere slightly enlarged (Fig. 13 B). Metasoma. Metasoma weakly sclerotized, each tergite with a row of setae. Host. The type series was also reared from syconia of Ficus tinctoria subsp. tinctoria G. Forst., pollinated by an undescribed species of Kradibia (sp 026 in our database). Distribution. Australasian region, Papua. Etymology.
