This repository contains the frozen datasets supporting the article: Directional Centroid Trajectories Reveal Shifting Fire Activity Across Brazilian Biomes Authors: Mario Barroso Ramos Neto and Gabriel Selbach Hofmann The dataset consists of annual burned-area patch centroids derived from MapBiomas Fire products for Brazilian biomes. Files are organized into two major categories: 1. Natural fire patches 2. Anthropogenic-use fire patches Each record represents a burned-area patch identified for a specific year and contains the following attributes: - Year - Patch_ID - Longitude - Latitude - NumPixels - Area_ha - Biome Natural fire patches correspond to burned areas occurring in native vegetation formations. Anthropogenic-use fire patches correspond to burned areas occurring in anthropogenic land-use classes. These datasets were used to evaluate temporal and directional changes in burned-area centroid trajectories across Brazilian biomes. The data are provided to support transparency, reproducibility, and future research on fire dynamics, spatial ecology, and remote sensing applications.
