Current evidence shows that the awareness and use of nicotine pouches is rising in young adults and teenagers, raising increasing concern regarding potential adverse effects. For adult smokers, nicotine pouches may offer potential as a harm reduction tool, although they are not currently recommended by NICE as a smoking cessation aid. This narrative review explores current trends and the growing evidence base surrounding the reported issues of nicotine pouch use and the potential implications focusing on oral health relating to orthodontic treatment. CPD/Clinical Relevance: The use of nicotine pouches is rapidly increasing, and it is important to understand the possible implications for oral health and orthodontic treatment.
