Replication Data for: Diagnostic accuracy of attended versus unattended automated blood pressure measurements compared to ambulatory blood pressure monitoring conducted by community health workers in rural sub-Saharan Africa

This dataset was generated from a cross-sectional, population-based diagnostic accuracy study conducted in two health and demographic surveillance systems in Kenya and The Gambia. The study evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of attended and unattended automated blood pressure (BP) measurements performed by community health workers (CHWs) in participants’ homes, using 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) as the reference standard. The dataset contains participant-level demographic, anthropometric and BP measurement data, including study site, sex, date of birth, height, weight, ABPM daytime and nighttime readings, average 24-hour/daytime/nighttime systolic and diastolic BP, heart rate, ABPM validity, and first, second, third and average attended and unattended home BP measurements. The dataset contains 1,277 participant records. The data may be useful for research on community-based BP screening, CHW-led BP measurement, diagnostic accuracy of home BP measurement, and comparison of home BP measurements with 24-hour ABPM in rural sub-Saharan African populations.
