Nuclear proteins were extracted from yellow-skinned chicken skin. The same gel is shown as the original colour image (a) and the grayscale image for enhanced visualization (b). The red arrows indicate a distinct band (~ 40–50 kDa) specific to the MUT probe, which was excised for LC-MS/MS analysis.
