Influence of sleep patterns on the satisfaction level of players
Résumé fourni par la source
The present study was conducted to examine the impact of sleep pattern on the satisfaction level of players among intercollegiate athletes of the University of Jammu. A descriptive research design was adopted, and a total of 60 athletes (30 male and 30 female), aged 18–25 years, were selected using stratified convenience sampling. Sleep pattern was considered the independent variable, while player satisfaction served as the dependent variable. Data were collected using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and the Player Satisfaction Scale (PPS). The collected data were analyzed using SPSS software, and Pearson's Product Moment Correlation Coefficient was employed to determine the relationship between the variables. The findings revealed a weak positive but statistically non-significant relationship between sleep pattern and satisfaction among male players, whereas female players showed a negligible and non-significant relationship. The study concluded that sleep pattern alone does not significantly influence player satisfaction, suggesting that other psychological, social, and environmental factors may contribute to athletes' overall satisfaction.
