A study of conservative sling surgeries for pelvic organ prolapse in young women
Résumé fourni par la source
Introduction: The prevalence of POP in the world is from 2 to 20% in women under 45 years. Many factors contribute to POP, especially those related to childbirth, such as multiple births and instrumental childbirth. Uterine prolapse is a particular challenge and it has been difficult to identify the optimal surgical treatment for this condition.Aim: To study was to identify demographic or clinical factors associated with the recurrence rate of prolapse within 6 months after conservative abdominal sling surgery.Materials and Methods: A retrospective paper review of all POP repairs performed in women ≤ 45 years between January 2017 and January 2022 at Smt Kashibai Navle Medical College. The study population was divided into Sonawala's posterior sling group, Josli's anterior sling group and Virkud composite sling group. The primary endpoint was reintervention for recurrent symptomatic POP. Secondary endpoints were other complications such as pain. During the study period, 50 women ≤ 45 years who underwent POP repair were included and divided into three groups: 32 patients (64%), 8 patients (16%) and 6 patients (12%) in Sonawala, Joshi and to say the groups. of Virkud. The follow-up time was 6 months.Result: Recurrence of POP, whether reoperated or not, was diagnosed mainly in the Sonawala group (16%) and the Joshi group (4%). Recurrence of POP was resolved by vaginal hysterectomy in one patient (2%). Four patients (8%) presented pain (in the Virkud group). Conclusion: Despite the risk of recurrence, POP remediation should be offered to young people. Conservative abdominal sling surgeries should be performed after explaining the pros and cons of the procedure to women.
