Catalog of ultra-low frequency underwater acoustics events, classified by source type
Résumé fourni par la source
Many types of sources emit very low-frequency (< 100 Hz) underwater acoustic waves, including geophysical events (earthquakes, volcanic activity, cryospheric activity), biophonic sources (whales), and anthropophonic sources (airguns and ships). International Monitoring System (IMS) hydroacoustic stations continuously record these types of sources, as their hydrophones operate at a sampling rate of 250 Hz. This catalog aims to list examples of signals from these sources recorded by the stations and extracted using the Progressive Multi-Channel Correlation (PMCC) method. In total, 48 993 examples are included in this catalog, drawn from recordings spanning January 2020 to December 2023, with the exception of volcanic activity, for which recordings extend to January 2024.
