Résumé fourni par la source

Administering multiple construct-specific instruments to assess transdiagnostic vulnerabilities and maintenance processes across different mental health conditions is time-consuming and often infeasible in both research and clinical contexts. The present project therefore aims to provide a brief and parsimonious self-report measure that assesses several key transdiagnostic domains within a single questionnaire. The instrument is intended to capture potentially modifiable, disorder-agnostic psychological processes that recur across disorder-specific models and may be relevant to the development and maintenance of psychopathology, as well as to prevention and psychological treatment. Based on an integrative, theory-driven synthesis of transdiagnostic and disorder-specific models, meta-analytic evidence, and clinical relevance, five domains were selected for the development of the Transdiagnostic Psychological Factors Questionnaire (TPFQ): self-worth, emotion regulation, perfectionism, interpersonal difficulties, and cognitive difficulties. Domain definitions were developed theoretically, and initial item pools were informed by existing instruments that mapped onto the intended construct content. The item pool was subsequently reviewed by experts to evaluate content relevance and coverage and to support the selection of candidate items. Following further refinement, a 30-item English-language version of the questionnaire was developed, with six items representing each domain. The primary aim of the present study is to conduct an initial psychometric evaluation of this 30-item English-language version in a large online general-population sample. The study will include (a) item-level analyses and an exploratory examination of the latent structure, including exploratory factor analysis and potential item reduction; (b) an assessment of the reliability of the resulting scales; and (c) an initial examination of construct validity using established comparator measures. Scale development and evaluation are informed by established recommendations for instrument development and validation (Boateng et al., 2018).
