Le résumé fourni par la source

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a leading cause of chronic pain, disability, and reduced quality of life worldwide, with its prevalence increasing due to ageing populations, obesity, and lifestyle-related risk factors. Activity-related joint discomfort (ArJD) similarly affects physically active individuals through repetitive mechanical loading and joint stress, leading to pain, stiffness, reduced range of motion, and impaired mobility. Conventional pharmacological therapies primarily provide symptomatic relief without modifying disease progression and are often associated with long-term adverse effects, creating the need for safe and effective adjunctive interventions. Nutraceuticals, particularly undenatured type II collagen (UC-II®), sodium hyaluronate (Mobilee®), and curcumin, have emerged as promising options due to their beneficial effects on pain, inflammation, cartilage health, and joint function with favourable safety profiles. This expert consensus evaluates the clinical role of UC-II®, Mobilee®, and curcumin in improving outcomes in osteoarthritis and activity-related joint discomfort, with emphasis on pain relief, joint mobility, cartilage regeneration, treatment optimisation, and patient quality of life. Clinical evidence demonstrates that UC-II® significantly improves WOMAC, VAS, joint mobility, cartilage thickness, and functional outcomes, with benefits observed as early as day 7 and sustained up to 6 months, including efficacy in stage III OA and ArJD. Mobilee® improves pain, synovial inflammation, muscular strength, range of motion, and reduces NSAID dependence, particularly in mild-to-moderate OA and individuals with mild joint discomfort. Curcumin provides significant improvements in WOMAC, KOOS, pain scores, range of motion, and exercise-related recovery, supporting its role in both OA and physically active populations. Combination therapy with UC-II® (40 mg), Mobilee® (80 mg), and curcumin (200 mg) has shown significant improvements in WOMAC, VAS, mobility, and functional performance, along with better patient-reported outcomes and quality of life. Appropriate patient selection, clinically validated dosing, and sustained treatment duration further enhance adherence, reduce NSAID dependence, and support long-term joint health. These findings support the integration of evidence-based nutraceutical combinations into contemporary OA and joint health management strategies.
