Generation of single- and two-band terahertz radiation with tunable frequency and polarization by chirped laser fields
Résumé fourni par la source
Linearly polarized chirped laser fields have shown advantages in controlling the intensity and frequency of terahertz (THz) radiation. In this work, we present a theoretical investigation of THz generation through the interaction of a gas medium with chirped two-color laser fields consisting of x - and y -polarized components, with a focus on precisely regulating the polarization of THz waves with a tunable center frequency. We demonstrate that by adjusting the time delay and phase difference between the fundamental laser pulse and its second-harmonic field, single-band single-cycle THz pulses with controlled polarizations (ellipticity, direction, and helicity) can be easily generated. Furthermore, by introducing an additional delay between two second-harmonic laser fields, it is possible to simultaneously produce THz radiation in two distinct spectral bands while synchronously tuning their frequencies and polarizations. This work thus provides a practical route for precisely controlling the center frequency and polarization of the THz field.
