From Field to Platform: Structuring Invasive Alien Species Data in the French Mediterranean with INVMED-Flore

The INVMED-Flore platform (https://invmed.fr) was developed by the Mediterranean National Botanical Conservatory and shared with the Alpine and Corsican National Botanical Conservatories to disseminate resources and occurrence data on invasive and potentially alien plant species (IAS) in the French Mediterranean region. It is interconnected with the SIMETHIS database, a professional tool that feeds into regional and national biodiversity information systems. This database compiles more than 247,440 EVEE records, all subjected to a rigorous validation process and georeferenced across the eleven departments of southeastern France and the Corsican territory. It also integrates bibliographic data and reference frameworks covering native status, as well as biological, phenological, and ecological traits. To complement this system, management actions targeting these species are also recorded and documented. This poster will illustrate how these data are structured and made interoperable, contributing to strengthened knowledge, management practices, and collaboration dynamics surrounding invasive alien plant species in the Mediterranean region.
