Analysis code for: Carbon Emissions from Cell-Culture Plastics Across Europe (COST Action CA21108, NETSKINMODELS)

Python pipeline supporting the article Carbon Emissions from Cell-Culture Plastics Across Europe. It covers (1) automated retrieval of polymer-specific emission factors from the life-cycle-assessment literature, (2) processing of six months of procurement records from 53 dermatology research laboratories in 22 European countries into per-laboratory plastic mass and CO2e, and (3) the Mann-Whitney comparison of plastic consumption and carbon footprint between laboratories in COST Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITC) and non-ITC laboratories. The results released here are country-level aggregates and the article figures. The laboratory-level survey records are not redistributed: the survey collected participants' names, affiliations and free-text comments, which are personal data under the GDPR and were removed before any release, and a per-laboratory row would remain linkable to an institution in countries represented by a single laboratory. Country and Inclusiveness Target Country status are the only geographic granularity the analysis uses, and they are published in full.
