Archaeological Watching Brief Report, Land to the rear of Henley Road and Garage Block, Miles Meadow, Coventry, CV2 1LP
Résumé fourni par la source
The archaeological watching brief involved supervision of general ground reduction, excavation of strip footings and installation of a new sewage connection to Henley Road. Where necessary, surfaces were hand cleaned for examination and recording and deposits observed were recorded on standard pro-forma recording sheets. A digital colour photographic record was maintained, some of which is reproduced in the report. All work was carried out according to the agreed Written Schemes of Investigation (Roberts 2024) and in accordance with the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA) Standard for Archaeological Monitoring and Recording (2023). The fieldwork was undertaken by James Roberts, Michael Blake and Peter Spencer. The watching brief revealed that the site has been subject to truncation down to the natural geology, likely when the garages were constructed in the mid 20th century. No archaeological features were present within the monitored area.
