Résumé fourni par la source

The archaeological watching brief involved supervision of excavation of electrical service trenches, connection pits and charger foundations within the carpark and across Hither Way. Where necessary, surfaces were hand cleaned for examination and recording and deposits observed were recorded on standard pro-forma recording sheets. A digital colour photographic record was maintained, some of which is reproduced in Appendix 1, plates 1 - 6 of the report. All spoil was scanned with a metal detector and visually examined for artifacts. All work was carried out according to the agreed Brief (Lodge 2025) and in accordance with the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA) Standard for Archaeological Monitoring and Recording (2023). The fieldwork was undertaken by Michael Blake and James Roberts. The watching brief revealed that the site has been subject to truncation down to the natural geology, likely when the road and carpark were constructed. No archaeological features were present within the site and the results are presented with a high confidence rating.
