Aerosol abundance and sizing data from the Balloon Baseline Stratospheric Aerosol Profiles (B2SAP) network. The Portable Optical Particle Spectrometer (POPS) is a lightweight, low-powered optical particle counter spectrometer that counts and optically sizes aerosol between 140 - 2500nm in diameter. It is deployed on a high altitude balloon, where the POPS (aerosol) and radiosonde (time, geospatial) provide data from the surface to 30 km altitude. These balloons are launched regularly from 7 sites globally distributed to capture a large latitudinal range. Data from two additional sites is available from opportunistic launches. For every B2SAP launch, the data is provided as 100m altitude binned, or as 1S resolution.
