Morphosyntactic analysis of Izọn words using the Kolokuma/Kabụ dialects

Morphosyntax is a combination of two aspects of linguistics: morphology and syntax. This article portrayed the morphosyntactic nature of Izọn words. In carrying out this study, the descriptive survey design was used and the descriptive morphology theory was adopted. Data was collected using the introspective method because the researchers are native speakers in addition to the field work method and written textbooks in Izọn. After analysing the data, it was revealed that Izọn language manifest inflection that reflects various categories such as number, gender, case, tense, aspect, etc. In all, this academic paper has contributed to knowledge through a documentation of Izọn morphosyntactic words.
