Nova gestão pública nas universidades: tecnologia, desafios e capacitação profissional dos técnicos-administrativos em educação (TAEs)

This study analyzes the impacts of New Public Management and technological transformations on the management of public universities, focusing on the challenges faced by Administrative Technicians in Education (TAEs) and the need for professional training in response to new institutional demands. The modernization of public administration has increased the pursuit of efficiency, transparency, service quality, and better results, while the expansion of digital technologies has changed processes, routines, and forms of work organization within educational institutions. Methodologically, this is a qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive study based on bibliographic and documentary research. Publications related to New Public Management, digital transformation, university management, and professional development were analyzed, as well as regulatory documents concerning the careers and training of federal public servants. The results indicate that information systems, electronic processes, and other digital tools can provide greater agility, integration, and organization of administrative activities. However, their implementation also requires TAEs to continuously update their knowledge, develop new skills, and adapt to changes in professional routines. It was observed that technology, when introduced without proper planning, training, and institutional support, may create adaptation difficulties and compromise the expected outcomes. The study concludes that the modernization of public universities depends not only on the adoption and use of new technologies, but also on the appreciation and preparation of the professionals involved in administrative processes. In this context, continuous professional training of TAEs is essential to integrate technological innovation, administrative efficiency, and the quality of services provided to the university community and society.
