ARISE curated dataset for the MycoDiversity DataBase (MDDB)
Résumé fourni par la source
The dataset ARISE curated dataset for the MycoDiversity DataBase (MDDB) represents the creation of the ARISE entity tables describing the data collection and data samples for incorporation into the MycoDiversity DataBase (MDDB). The soil sample information provided in this datasets belongs to a sub-selection of 189 ARISE fungal ITS metabarcoding records across two environmental sites in The Netherlands. For the creation of this dataset, we extended the usability of the original ARISE sample records by applying mappings to relevant biodiversity-related controlled terms provided by ENVO, GeoNames, and NCBI, standardising environmental context and biome terminology, geographic naming, and any taxonomic reference. We also provide the appropriate mapping to contextual information to the description provenance. Data formats were also extended and standardised, including sample coordinates obtained through GeoNames mapping. These two entity tables provide the ARISE sample and dataset tables, and the related mapping, in a MDDB format, ready for direct inclusion into MDDB. Curating and standardising this contextual information increases its reusability and FAIRness, thus improving overall data quality for the ARISE dataset's inclusion in MDDB. Irene and Daniël have contributed equally in the curation of the datasets for MDDB. All details and description found in the README.md file of this dataset.
