Functional Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumours: A Scoping Review of the Medical Management Evidence
Résumé fourni par la source
Background Functional pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (F-pNETs) are rare malignancies requiring complex medical management to control both hormonal hypersecretion and tumor progression. As pharmacological options evolve, synthesizing the current evidence base is essential to inform clinical practice. Objectives To systematically map the literature on the medical management of F-pNETs. This scoping review will chart existing evidence surrounding pharmacological interventions (e.g., somatostatin analogues, targeted therapies, systemic chemotherapy, PRRT) to identify knowledge gaps and clarify current treatment paradigms. Methodology Conducted in accordance with PRISMA-ScR guidelines, this study will systematically search major medical databases to collate and analyze peer-reviewed literature, clinical guidelines, and trial data pertaining exclusively to the medical management of F-pNETs.
