Le résumé fourni par la source

Introduction: Organizations in Peru's fisheries sector face substantial challenges in strengthening export competitiveness because of constraints related to strategic information management, technological infrastructure, and analytical capacity. These limitations affect the use, processing, and interpretation of increasing volumes of data required to support decision-making in highly competitive international markets. In this context, Business Intelligence (BI) is a strategic management capability that transforms business data into actionable knowledge to support export performance. Objective: To determine the effect of Business Intelligence on the export competitiveness of hydrobiological products exported by fisheries-sector companies in Peru's Northern Macroregion. Methods: This quantitative study employed a non-experimental design with an explanatory scope. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire administered to 89 companies that export hydrobiological products. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was performed in SmartPLS to estimate the relationships among the constructs in the proposed model. Results: The structural model showed that Business Intelligence contributes significantly to export competitiveness through data quality management and target market development. Data quality management had a positive and statistically significant effect on export competitiveness (β = 0.560; t = 4.60; p < 0.05), while target market development also had a positive and statistically significant effect (β = 0.422; t = 3.43; p < 0.05). By contrast, commercial information analysis did not have a statistically significant effect on export competitiveness (β = 0.044; t = 1.21; p > 0.05). Conclusions: Business Intelligence emerged as a strategically relevant capability for strengthening export competitiveness in the fisheries sector, particularly through effective data management and a clear strategic orientation toward international markets. These findings indicate that value creation depends not only on access to commercial information but also on an organization's capacity to transform reliable data into timely, market-oriented decisions.
