Profession-specific versions of the Clinical Learning Quality Evaluation Index (CLEQI): adapted questionnaires for health-profession degree courses, in English and Italian

The Clinical Learning Quality Evaluation Index (CLEQI) is a 22-item, five-factor questionnaire measuring the capacity of a clinical placement to generate meaningful learning, as perceived by students. It was developed and validated for nursing students by Palese and colleagues. This deposit contains the profession-specific versions of the CLEQI prepared for students of six healthcare-profession degree courses of the University of Parma (five bachelor's degrees and one master's degree), and administered during their clinical placements at the Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria di Parma (University Hospital of Parma, Italy). Each version is provided in the original Italian, as administered, with an English translation. The adaptation kept the five factors, the number and order of the 22 items and the 0-3 response scale unchanged; only profession-specific or nursing-specific wording was modified, so the construct measured by each item is preserved. The files are laid out as ready-to-use forms, with response boxes and factor subtotals, and can be printed and administered as they stand. All remaining items were used verbatim. Adapted items are highlighted in amber in each file. ATTRIBUTION AND RIGHTS The CLEQI is the intellectual property of its developers (Palese et al.) and, as stated by the authors of the instrument, may be used freely without requesting authorisation. Notwithstanding this, the lead developer of the instrument was contacted in 2020, before the adaptation was undertaken, and the profession-specific versions were prepared with her prior agreement. No rights whatsoever are claimed here over the original instrument. The CC BY 4.0 licence applied to this record covers only the profession-specific adaptations and the English translations, which are the original contribution of the depositing authors.
