Investigating the deformation of the intruder isomeric 1/2
Le résumé fourni par la source
The N = 49 nucleus 79Zn, located in the immediate vicinity of the doubly magic 78Ni, is suspected to exhibit shape coexistence. The mean squared charge radius for its isomeric state at an excitation energy of around 940 keV has been shown to significantly exceed the one for the ground state. To provide more conclusive information about the deformation of the intruder structure in 79Zn, we performed a Coulomb-excitation measurement at the HIE-ISOLDE facility (CERN, Switzerland). In the experiment, a radioactive 79Zn beam in a mixture of ground and isomeric states was post-accelerated to 4.0 MeV/u and impinged on 196Pt and 208Pb targets. A CD DSSSD detector and the Miniball HPGe array were used to detect the scattered reaction partners and the decay γ rays from the Coulomb-excited levels, respectively. The ongoing analysis aims at extracting Doppler-corrected γ-ray yields for transitions between intruder states, and determination of the corresponding B(E2) values using the Coulomb-excitation code GOSIA.
