Proton-neutron pairing in the
Le résumé fourni par la source
Proton-neutron pairing is an exotic type of pairing between two different particles, only existing in N Z nuclei. It was studied in the middle of the f7/2 shell using the 48Cr(p,3He)46V two-nucleon transfer reaction in order to investigate the competition between the isovector (T = 1) and the isoscalar (T = 0) pairing channels. 48Cr was produced at the GANIL-LISE facility in the fragmentation of 50Cr, before impinging on a CH2 target at 30 MeV/u. The MUGAST@LISE setup consisted of a charged particle array for target-like recoils, a heavy ion detector for beam-like particles and a Ge array for γ ray detection. The cross sections to the different states in 46V populated by proton-neutron pair removal were measured. The measured cross sections ratio between the isovector channel and the isoscalar channel is lower than expected, showing a possible reduction of isovector collectivity or an increase of isoscalar collectivity in the middle of the f7/2 shell.
