The environmental effect of flood infiltration in boreholes and wells were examined in this study, which focused on Isoko North LGA and surrounding area Delta State, Nigeria. It employed a combination of geospatial analysis and laboratory testing of water samples from 15 open wells and boreholes located within the study area. The water samples from boreholes and wells had high levels of dissolved oxygen (DO), pH, and heavy metals, particularly Pb2+ and Fe+, according to a physico-chemical examination. Analysis was made possible by mapping the GPS-measured locations of the fifteen sample sites onto the topography plan of the research region. The area's groundwater vulnerability was evaluated using ArcGIS 10.8 software and Hierarchy Analytical Process (AHP) technique. According to the data, the two primary influencing elements that cause severe floods in the area are elevation/slope bearing (8.00%) and rainfall with (14.90%). According to the area's vulnerability model, this was created using a weighted overlay based on geographic information systems, groundwater vulnerability shows 77.3% of the studied area at a high risk of contamination, 16.1% at medium, and 6.6% at low vulnerable risk. The water sample has a "VI" grade on the Heavy Metal Index calculation scale, indicating a "Seriously Affected" water distribution mechanism, due to a substantial amount of heavy metals, especially Pb2+ and Fe2+. Determining the groundwater's sensitivity model to floodwater invasion and the sort of management that is appropriate for the region is the main goal of this study.
