Modern organizational literature heavily praises the elimination of internal politics through radicaltransparency, decentralization, and extreme meritocracy. Exemplified by tech sector pioneers, theseoperational frameworks aim to dismantle approval hierarchies, bureaucratic inertia, and opaquebargaining. However, this paper proposes the Law of Organizational Friction Conservation: systemicdistress within a human organization cannot be destroyed; it merely transforms from one psychologicalstate to another. Using a comparative structural analysis, we demonstrate that while radically transparentsystems succeed in reducing political friction (favoritism, backroom lobbying, and siloing), theyinherently convert that kinetic energy into heightened performance anxiety, hyper-vigilance, and systemicburnout. This paper articulates the trade-off mechanics between political friction and performance anxiety,establishing a theoretical model for the "Psychological Safety Equilibrium" required for sustainableorganizational design.
