A multi-material entropy method for modeling realistic phase transitions in geodynamic simulations: Data and Software This repository accompanies the paper ```A multi-material entropy method for modeling realistic phase transitions in geodynamic simulationsby Ranpeng Li, Juliane Dannberg, Rene Gassmoeller, Robert Myhill``` This repository contains ASPECT and BurnMan code, data, and model setups. All benchmark models presented of the publication were run using the following dependencies: ```------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is ASPECT ---- The Advanced Solver for Planetary Evolution, Convection, and Tectonics. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- . version 3.1.0-pre (main, 14e30a472)-- . using deal.II 9.6.0-- . with 32 bit indices-- . with vectorization level 1 (SSE2, 2 doubles, 128 bits)-- . using Trilinos 14.4.0-- . using p4est 2.3.6-- . using Geodynamic World Builder 1.0.0-- . running in DEBUG mode-- . running with 4 MPI processes-----------------------------------------------------------------------------``` All global spherical convection models of the publication were run using the same dependencies as above, except for: ```------------------------------------------------------------------------------- . running in OPTIMIZED mode-- . running with 64 MPI processes-----------------------------------------------------------------------------``` After compiling ASPECT, you can start them with the ASPECT executable in your build folder. --- The directories contain the following files: - `parameter-files` : Contains subfolders `benchmarks` and `applications`, where you can find the ASPECT parameter files for all the benchmarks and spherical convection models presented in this paper.- `data`: This folder has subfolders `tables-for-benchmarks` and `tables-for-applications`, which contain all material look-up tables and reference viscosity tables for all models presented in this paper. In addition, there is a subfolder `burnman-scripts` that contains the BurnMan scripts we used to generate our material look-up tables.- `plotting-scripts`: Contains Python scripts to generate the figures.- `software`: This folder contains ASPECT version 3.1.0-pre (commit hash 14e30a472) and BurnMan version 3.0.0. To run the models in Test 9, please apply the changes in `changes-for-test-9.diff`, which allow the model to rotate with an increasing angular velocity. We also provide the file `changes-delay-equilibration.diff` which allows users to delay the thermal equilibration to after timestep 1 (see the discussion of Test 5).---
