This is a pre-print of the National Scenarios Dataset 2025 - Business As Usual, Current Policies and Net-Zero [Paper and SI] submitted to Scientific Data for peer review. Abstract: Climate change mitigation scenario datasets are a valuable resource that explores socioeconomic pathways, emissions trajectories, and energy transitions. Global mitigation scenario ensembles have been compiled under specific protocols to support scientific assessments and ease of comparison. By contrast, national scenarios have not historically been collected and assessed in a standardized manner; hence remain rarely collected, coordinated and/or systematically assessed at global level. To address these gaps, this study presents a repository of national scenarios containing submissions from 57 modelling teams across 36 countries with standardized metadata to facilitate consistent evaluation. These scenarios reflect socioeconomic development and climate policy measures under three distinct pathways: business as usual, current policies and net-zero targets. We have implemented a customized vetting process during this pilot stage to ensure data quality and consistency. This scenario ensemble addresses a major critique of the global mitigation scenarios by improving national representation at both the model and scenario development level. It also strengthens the representation of technological development and rapid transitions at national-level in a global context.
