Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology Consensus Statements on the Management of Iron Deficiency in Patients with Cardiovascular Disease
Résumé fourni par la source
Iron deficiency is a common, yet often untreated, comorbidity in patients with a wide range of cardiovascular disease (CVD). As clinical evidence mounts on the benefits of correction of iron deficiency in patients with CVD and the safety and efficacy of iron-replacement therapies, there is a need to elevate the quality of care provided to patients with CVD and iron deficiency in the Asia-Pacific region. Hence, the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology established a multidisciplinary panel to develop regional consensus recommendations on the management of iron deficiency in patients with CVD. Twenty-three experts from various countries in the region reviewed the available clinical evidence to develop 21 consensus statements for patients with heart failure, cyanotic congenital heart disease, concomitant CVD or chronic kidney disease; those undergoing cardiac surgery or admitted to cardiovascular intensive care; or pregnant women with heart disease.
