Motivating Students in Climate Change Education within STEM contexts: A Scoping Review Toward an Evidence-Informed Conceptual Model

This is a pre-registration for a scoping review titled “Motivating Students in Climate Change Education within STEM contexts: A Scoping Review Toward an Evidence-Informed Conceptual Model.” This scoping review intends to map the contexts, methodologies, and theories of extant research on K-12 students’ motivation in climate change education within STEM contexts. By combining theoretical propositions and empirical evidence, this review also aims to propose practical implications and an evidence-informed conceptual model to inform future practice and research in cultivating sustained motivation among K-12 students in climate change learning across STEM subjects. This pre-registration covers the Introduction and Methodology (2.1 Inclusion criteria, 2.2 Study search, 2.3 Data screening, and 2.4 Data extraction and analysis) of the scoping review.
