Résumé fourni par la source

This registration documents a systematic review evaluating the effectiveness of telemedicine interventions in nursing homes, skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), assisted-living facilities, and long-term care (LTC) settings. The primary objective is to assess whether telemedicine reduces emergency department transfers and unplanned hospital admissions. Secondary outcomes include mortality, 30-day readmissions, hospital length of stay, healthcare costs and cost-effectiveness, patient and staff satisfaction, and implementation barriers and facilitators. The review follows PRISMA 2020 guidance and includes studies identified through a systematic search of PubMed covering January 1974 to March 2026. Because the review had already been completed before this registration, this registration is retrospective and is intended to improve transparency rather than serve as a prospective protocol.
