Among malignant tumors, the most common is sarcoma. Cardiac neoplasms can cause arrhythmia, thromboembolism, pericardial disease, and valve block. Diagnosis is made through magnetic resonance imaging and echocardiography . Objective: To collect data on mortality due to malignant neoplasms of the heart, mediastinum, and pleura between 2010 and 2023 in São Paulo . Methods: This is an ecological, descriptive, cross-sectional, and retrospective epidemiological study. Data were collected from the SIM (National Health Insurance System) on cases of malignant neoplasms of the heart, mediastinum, and pleura (ICD C38) between 2010 and 2023. The variables collected were: year of death, age group, race, and marital status . Results: Between 2010 and 2023 there were 2,689 deaths, with the following distribution in the years: 1) 2010: 151 (5.6%), 2) 2011: 187 (6.9%), 3) 2012: 194 (7.2%), 4) 2013: 177 (6.5%), 5) 2014: 190 (7.0%), 2015: 192 (7.1%). 2016: 169 (6.2%), 2017: 197 (7.3%), 2018: 207 (7.6%), 2019: 218 (8.1%), 2020: 212 (7.8%), 2021: 199 (7.4%), 2022: 187 (6.9%), 2023: 209 (7.7%). Regarding Color/Race, the following data were presented: 1) White: 1,967 (73.1%), 2) Black: 160 (0.5%), 3) Yellow 38 (1.4%), 4) Brown 463 (17.2%), 5) Indigenous: 1 (0.03%) and 5) Ignored: 60 (2.2%). The patients were distributed into 11 age groups: i) under 1 year: 10 (0.4%), ii) 1 to 9 years: 19 (0.7%), iii) 10 to 19 years: 54 (2.0%), iv) 20 to 29 years: 138 (5.1%), v) 30 to 39 years: 140 (5.2%), vi) 40 to 49 years: 204 (7.6%), vii) 50 to 59 years: 431 (16.0%), viii) 60 to 69 years: 651 (24.2%), ix) 70 to 79 years: 610 (22.7%), x) 80 years or older: 429 (15.9%) and xi) unknown: 3 (0.1%). Regarding sex, there were 1,523 male deaths (56.6%) and 1,166 female deaths (43.4%). Regarding marital status, malignant neoplasms are arranged as follows: 1) Single: 629 (23.3%), 2) Married: 1,148 (42.6%), 3) Widowed: 510 (18.9%), 4) Legally separated: 217 (8.0%), 5) Other: 54 (2.0%) and 6) Ignored 131 (4.0%) . Conclusion: Neoplasms of the heart, mediastinum, and pleura are rare and infrequent. Between 2010 and 2023, in São Paulo, there were 2,689 deaths, with 2018 having the highest number of cases (207 {7.6%}). Accordingly, the white race, the age group of 50 to 59 years, the male sex and married marital status presented the highest prevalence of this condition.
