Résumé fourni par la source

Abstract Purpose The chapter examines the way Agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI) became a strategic partner in evolving Human Resource (HR) practices to develop ethical, resilient, and sustainable organizations in Industry 5.0. It highlights the developing relationship between the capabilities of humans and the agency of AI, in designing the future of work. Need for the Study There is a transition of organizations from automation-driven to human-centric systems, which requires the integration of Agentic AI in HR to ensure decisions are transparent, fair, and aligned with organizational sustainability goals. The study emphasizes the need to balance technological intelligence, ethical responsibility, and workforce resilience. Methodology The chapter adopts a conceptual and analytical approach, bringing together insights from academic literature, policy reports, and current trends involving the adoption of technologies across the HRM function related to AI. The discussion integrates theoretical perspectives drawn from human–AI collaboration and sustainable management frameworks. Findings The findings show that Agentic AI augments strategic HR functions, including upskilling, talent management, performance management, workforce planning, and learning systems, by supporting agility, inclusivity, and ethical governance. It also promotes an adaptive workforce capable of succeeding in volatile environments. Practical Implications Organizations can take advantage of Agentic AI as a strategic partner, rather than simply a tool, that fosters ethical culture, enhances human capital, and creates long-term sustainability. The chapter concludes that the future of work will depend on a symbiotic relationship developed on human values combined with intelligent automation.
